The preservation of indigenous cultural heritage has become increasingly significant in the twenty-first century due to globalization, urbanization, and rapid technological transformation. While modernization has created opportunities for economic development and global communication, it has also accelerated the erosion of traditional customs, languages, rituals, and indigenous knowledge systems. Community engagement has emerged as one of the most effective approaches for protecting and revitalizing cultural heritage by involving local populations directly in documentation, education, and cultural transmission. This paper examines the relationship between community participation and cultural preservation in the digital era. Drawing upon qualitative literature and interdisciplinary perspectives, the study explores how digital technologies, community-led initiatives, educational institutions, and policy frameworks collectively contribute to safeguarding indigenous heritage. The findings suggest that successful preservation efforts depend on active collaboration between communities, governments, researchers, and technological platforms. The paper concludes that sustainable cultural preservation requires empowering indigenous communities as primary custodians of their own heritage rather than treating them merely as subjects of documentation.
