Cultural heritage represents the collective memory, traditions, beliefs, languages, monuments, customs, and artistic expressions of communities across generations. Rapid globalization, urbanization, technological transformation, and changing lifestyles have significantly influenced traditional methods of preserving cultural heritage. Community engagement has emerged as one of the most effective approaches to sustaining both tangible and intangible cultural heritage. Local communities possess invaluable knowledge, practices, and experiences that contribute to preserving historical identity. Simultaneously, digital technologies have introduced innovative opportunities for documenting, promoting, and safeguarding cultural assets. This paper examines the relationship between community participation and cultural heritage preservation within the context of digital transformation. Using qualitative analysis of existing literature and documented case studies, the study highlights the importance of collaborative governance, digital storytelling, educational awareness, and public participation in strengthening heritage conservation. The paper concludes that sustainable preservation requires active cooperation among governments, educational institutions, cultural organizations, technology providers, and local communities.
