Cultural heritage represents the collective memory, identity, and traditions of societies across generations. Rapid globalization, technological innovation, urbanization, and changing lifestyles have significantly influenced how communities preserve and transmit their cultural heritage. This paper examines the role of community participation in safeguarding tangible and intangible cultural heritage in the digital era. Using a qualitative review of existing literature and selected international case studies, the study explores the benefits, challenges, and future possibilities of combining traditional preservation methods with digital technologies. The findings reveal that community engagement remains the foundation of successful heritage conservation while digital platforms provide new opportunities for documentation, education, and global awareness. However, unequal access to technology, commercialization, and cultural misrepresentation continue to pose serious challenges. The paper recommends collaborative strategies involving governments, educational institutions, local communities, and technology providers to ensure sustainable cultural preservation.
