Community engagement has become an essential component of sustainable social development in increasingly multicultural societies. As migration, urbanization, and technological advancements reshape social interactions, communities face new opportunities for collaboration alongside challenges related to social fragmentation and cultural diversity. This paper examines the relationship between community engagement and social cohesion through a review of contemporary literature in sociology, political science, and community studies. It explores how inclusive participation, civic responsibility, volunteerism, and intercultural dialogue strengthen trust and collective identity. The study adopts a qualitative approach based on secondary sources and concludes that active community participation promotes social resilience, democratic values, and peaceful coexistence. Policy recommendations emphasize inclusive governance, educational initiatives, and digital civic participation.
